The Burg Coffee Museum is located in the historic coffee warehouse from 1896, following a long tradition, as coffee has always been stored and processed here.
Coffee is the most important beverage in Germany and is the second most traded product in the world after crude oil. The Port of Hamburg and the Speicherstadt World Heritage Site play a particularly important role in this, from the past to the present.
In the Speicherstadt'sonly vaulted cellar, you will learn all about the prima donna of useful plants. A journey from cultivation to the Hanseatic trading office to the store from grandma's time.
Find out why Hamburg is the coffee capital with tools and machines, roasters and grinders, filters and pots, advertisements and curiosities.
On the first floor is our coffee roasting machine from the 1930s, which we use to roast our coffees on site. In the museum café you can not only study our coffee, but also enjoy it with all your senses and even take it home with you in the store. We also offer coffee tastings and gin tastings, as well as tea seminars
