At the Kochberg Love Theater, you can experience the historical performance practice in opera, theater, and concerts at an authentic location!
This unique gem is the Love Theater built around 1800, where Carl von Stein, the oldest son of Charlotte von Stein, created his own little court of muses on the Kochberg estate, following the Weimar model. Today, performances of works from the Baroque, Classical, and Romantic eras featuring renowned artists are held here, attracting nationwide attention in Germany.
From May to the end of September, the "Liebhabertheater Schloss Kochberg e.V." association invites you to a varied event program each year: the playbill of the summer festival, which is themed annually, includes around 30 opera and theater performances, chamber concerts, and readings. Great importance is placed on high artistic quality, faithful performances, and the preservation of historical performance practice. This allows opera, theater, and concerts to be experienced at the authentic location and in the originally intimate atmosphere of the private theater. The "Kochberg Garden Delight" in May and the "Kochberg Christmas Market" in December complement the event offerings at Kochberg Castle.
