MiM Museum in Motion - Museum of Modern & Contemporary Art

MiM - Museum in Motion is a a collection of more than 1.000 works of art, exhibited in rotation, by contemporary masters, both italian and foreign. The Museum is into the Castle of San Pietro in Cerro (Emilia Romagna, Food Valley, 20 km from Piacenza).
Opening period: from March to the first weekend of November.
This old castle can be entirely visited: it has 30 richly decorated rooms, 2 honour salons, kitchens and prisons. Within the underground spaces, it is possible to admire the permanent show of terracotta Xi'An army Warriors. In the wide park, built upon the ancient stables, Locanda del Re Guerriero is set and is the old manor of San Pietro Castle.
The Castle stands in Piacenza's area, on the borderline with Parma and Cremona provinces. This structure, built on a more ancient one, has been started in 1460 by Bartolomeo Barattieri, jurist and Ambassador at pope papa Giulio II's court. Visit path: low ground furnished rooms, piano nobile furnished rooms, attic, MiM (contemporary art museum), underground spaces, courtyard of chevaliers and park. The majestic San Pietro's Castle is also a wonderful setting for congresses and exhibits.

What is Xi'an warriors permanent exhibition? An oriental corner. Permenent art show: perfect copies of the original ones, authorized and attested by the Chinese Govern. They are strong, but they seem to be moving. They stand still, but they are ready to start marching. These full-size soldiers seem to listen to you... Originary, they were Qin Shi Huang's grave guards, the first chinese emperor.

This castle is a perfect location perfetta for wedding parties, feasts and gala dinners. Indoor capability: around 250 people, within piano nobile 8 rooms.
