On 14th December 1992 the Spanish National Organisation of the Blind (ONCE) opened the 'Museo Tiflológico' in Madrid to offer to blind people the possibility of having access to a museum in a normal way, without being a barrier their visual handicap to enjoy the exhibited pieces of art. Currently, the Thyphological Museum is a space specially intended for public who can see and touch the exhibited pieces. But the most original and unique condition is that the museum is conceived by its own users and designed by them to cover their special needs. You can find there the ONCE cultural heritage, with temporary exhibitions from blind authors and others. The aim is to promote and attend the cultural demand of blind people as well as being a showcase of the ONCE efforts to achieve the integration and normalization of blind people.
